Mary and Max

Mary and Max is a 2009 stopmotion claymation feature film directed and written by Adam Elliot. The voice cast Toni Collette, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Eric Bana. The film premiered on the opening night of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.[1] In June 2009, the film won the Annecy Cristal from the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.

Plot
The film takes place from 1976 to 1994 and tells the story of the unlikely pen-pal friendship that lasts for 18 years between Mary, a chubby lonely 8-year-old girl who lives in Mount Waverley, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, and Max, a 44-year-old, severely obese, atheistic, Jewish man with Asperger syndrome who lives in New York City
